Paul McGowan - The Village Veterinarian, Chatham, IL

Dr. Paul McGowan

Dr. Paul McGowan graduated from the University of Illinois in 1986. He was an original Village Vet staff member when the clinic opened in 1996. In addition to general medicine, he shares surgery duties with Dr. Primm and does the orthopedic work.  He shares life with his wife and two poorly trained dogs, Ewan and Buddy.

 

Dr. Nicholas Primm - The Village Veterinarian, Chatham, IL

Dr. Nicholas Primm

Dr. Nicholas Primm graduated from the University of Illinois with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1986 and a Master's degree in 1989.   He spent ten years on the east coast before joining The Village Vet in 1999.   In addition to general medicine, he shares the surgery schedule with Dr. McGowan.   He lives with his children on a small farm along with dogs, Buddy and Fu, two cats, and an assortment of fowl. 

 

 

Dr. Andrea Rediger - The Village Veterinarian, Chatham, IL

 Dr. Andrea Rediger

Dr. Andrea Rediger, a central Indiana native, holds a degree in Accounting/Systems from Taylor University and a DVM degree from Purdue University.  She completed a small animal rotating internship at Michigan Veterinary Specialists prior to joining The Village Vet staff in 2004.  Dr. Rediger lives nearby with her husband, two young children, and a Brittany named Maya.  A cat named Eevee just joined the family after a Pokemon hunt.

 

 

 

Kristy Frakes - The Village Veterinarian, Chatham, IL

Kristy Frakes

Kristy Frakes has been working in the veterinary field since she was 18.  She joined The Village Vet full-time in 1999. She serves as a full-time technician. Kristy shares her home with husband Travis, son Payton, and daughter Hunter.  Their second hand Beagle is named Willy.

 

 Carrie Kennedy - The Village Veterinarian, Chatham, IL

Carrie Kennedy

Carrie Kennedy joined The Village Vet in 2000.  She works part-time as a receptionist.  In addition she assists technicians and veterinarians.  She is a retired teacher of students with special needs. She shares her home with Shad, the Weimaraner, and Keely, the Labrador.  Senta, the All American black dog is a frequent house guest.

 

Tomi Patrick - The Village Veterinarian, Chatham, IL

 Tomi Patrick

Tomi has worked in the veterinary field since 1992 when she started as a kennel kid in high school.  She completed an Animal Science degree at Southern Illinois University and came back to The Village veterinarian in 1998.

She completed a degree from Cedar Valley College in Texas and passed the national exam to become a certified veterinary technician in 2010. 

She and her husband share their home with Potie, the English Cocker and Viola, the Corgi.  She trains and competes with her dogs in obedience, agility, and tracking. Alvin! is the new cat.

 

Hilliary Sims - The Village Veterinarian, Chatham, IL

 Hillary Sims

Hillary joined The Village Vet in the summer of 2016.  She started with farm cats and horses as a kid.  As she got older, horses became an ever bigger part of her life and she became a barrel racer and pole bender.  After high school, she went to Harper College in Chicago to complete a Veterinary Assistant program and has been in the veterinary field ever since.

Nova Mae is her Husky/Malamute.  Chance is the cat she bottle fed.

Capone and Shooter, an Appaloosa and Tennessee Walker, are the new horses. 

 

Tricia Watson - The Village Veterinarian, Chatham, IL

 Tricia Watson

Tricia Watson, CVT, has been working in veterinary practices since she was 19.   She is an original Village Vet staff member, even helping to install cabinets and fixtures when The Village Veterinarian opened in 1996.  In addition to her technical duties, she oversees our inventory.  She graduated from Cedar Valley College, Lancaster TX, with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 2011. 

Her current pet is Tigger, an orange cat who does his best to live up to his name.

 

Samantha Yard - The Village Veterinarian, Chatham, IL

Samantha Yard

Samantha Yard joined the Village Vet staff in 2010.  She grew up on a farm in Fairbury, IL raising everything from goats and cattle to German Shepherds and horses.  She continues to share her love of animals with her daughter and husband, rescuing stray pets around their farmstead. Currently they have taken in 6 cats and rescued a shepherd mixed dog from the Fairbury area. Samantha spends her free time with her husband, Doug and daughter, Gretchen on the family farm enjoying nature, fishing, camping and farming.

 

Tina Zimmerman - The Village Veterinarian, Chatham, IL

Tina Zimmerman

Tina Zimmerman graduated with a degree in Agricultural Information from Southern Illinois University in 1995. She is an original Village Vet staff member since 1996. She handles much of the bookkeeping and administrative duties.  She was a farm kid and is raising her kids, and a flock of chickens, on the family farm.
